HISTORY

i-Fundi was formed in 2000, originally as a call centre and internet-based virtual assistance service. Despite the large number of unemployed people in South Africa and the low barriers to entry in the contact centre industry, finding experienced people proved difficult. At that time,  we realised  that there was a massive need for training to reduce the industry’s skills shortage, which given its rapid growth also had the potential to create a large number of jobs.

Accreditation

i-Fundi is registered and accredited with the Department of Education, Umalusi and the Services SETA.

BEE

Given i-Fundi’s commitment to empowering people, it is not surprising that we have received the second highest possible score, a AAA ,  Level Two Contributor, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment rating. Anyone doing business with us can claim 135% of their spending with i-Fundi as part of their procurement score.

i-Fundi is run by a team of passionate and professional people who are motivated by seeing others grow and develop. The founding directors, Stefan Lauber and Fariba Bowen, have drawn on their unique backgrounds in community development and management consulting to build an organization that is both people-centred and quality-focused.
